Nepal is a land-locked and underdeveloped country situated at the lap of the Himalayas and in the heart of world. It has diverse cultural heritage and is a country of unique theistic of green Landscape is known as the country of Buddha, Mount Everest, country of Yogis Ethics, etc. It is also famous for hand-working people. As there are so many small lands and also “Flora and Fauna” so it is rich in natural beauty.
Nepal is located in the central part of Asia, Nepal’s north latitude is 26º22’ to 30º27’ and east longitude is 804’ to 8812’. Her total area is 147,181 sq. km. this area is about 0.03% of world and 0.3% of Asia. The east west length of Nepal is 885 k.m. but widths is not uniform. The maximum width is 241 km and minimum widths is 145 km. with 193 km. as the average width (north-south).
Nepal is a landlocked hilly country where 77% land is covered by rocks, snow, barren mountains and sloppy hills etc. highest mountain in the world Mt. Everest (8,848m) and lower point of Nepal i.e. Kechanacal of jhapa district (70m.) are situated likewise it has the deepest gorge (the Dana of kaligandaki) and the deepest valley (the Arun valley) in the world. This Himalayan kingdom is popularly known as the country of third pole and the world of diversities. Nepal Himalayas in the north occupies one third area in length of the longest and youngest Himalayas range of about 2400 km. length in the world. A country of large number of hills and mountains has narrow plains trips in the south. Nepal is a birth place of Lord Buddha.

The word “tourism” is not an English word. It is derived from French word “Tourisme”. “Tourisme “is originated in 19th century and becomes very popular in 1930. This word is defined by various ways. The word “Tour” means journey from plan to place for entertainment. An Australian economist Mr. Hermann Von Schulland defines the tourism in 1910 as “the sum total of operations mainly of economics nature which directly relate to the entry stay and movement of foreigners inside and outside a certain country, city or reign”.
