MANPOWER PRODUCTIONS FROM THE TOURISM SECTOR

In addition to earn foreign exchange, tourism play a vital role for employment generation we do not have defined information about the manpower production from the tourism industry. As the study is based on the secondary information, only the data available from 1972/73 to December 2008 has been analyzed. The aggregate information on manpower production from tourism shows that the hotel sector occupies a significant place in this context. From the data available it shows that 30.5% of the total manpower production is represented by hotel sector of the total manpower 4164 in this sector, 732 is female and 3432 are male

The tour and travel sector companies 17.3% of the total. This sector includes 2338people with 368 female and 1960 male. The trekking sector represent19.9% of the total manpower production. This sector includes 2678 people with 2656 male and 22 female. The other courses workshop etc. occupies 7.56% of the total manpower production
